Dr. Jean Decaix

Scientific assistant, responsible for the Lab's digital infrastructure

Biography

Jean Decaix is an engineer and researcher specialising in fluid mechanics and numerical simulation applied to hydraulic machines. He holds a degree in energy and production from Grenoble INP and a doctorate from the University of Grenoble, where he wrote his thesis on the numerical simulation of cavitation. Since 2012, he has been a scientific assistant at the HES-SO Valais-Wallis. He works at the Hydro Alps Lab, where he is responsible for fluid and structural numerical simulation. His work contributes to a better understanding of the complex phenomena in hydraulic turbines and to optimising their performance and reliability.
