Scope and Objectives
Welcome to the IAHR Working Group 2027 Conference. The working group brings together experts from around the world to focus on two main topics: Dynamic Phenomena in Hydraulic Machinery and Systems and Cavitation in Hydraulic Machinery and Systems.
Dynamic Phenomena in Hydraulic Machinery and Systems
Modelling and analysis of hydraulic machinery
Computational analysis of unsteady flow in hydraulic systems and power stations
Flow instability and associated unsteadiness in bladed and bladeless regions of hydraulic machines
Techniques for mitigating flow instabilities in hydraulic machines
Experimental and numerical modelling and mitigation of rapid transient flows in hydraulic systems
- 1D-3D coupled simulation for complex transient flows
Vibrations and fatigue caused by unsteady flow
Experimental and numerical modelling of fluid-structure interaction in hydraulic machines
Cavitation in Hydraulic Machinery and Systems
Numerical simulation of cavitating flows
Experimental techniques for cavitating flows
Cavitation dynamics on stationary or moving surfaces
Vortex cavitation: development and dynamics
Modelling of cavitation erosion
Experiments on cavitation erosion
Special applications of cavitating flows
Programme Overview (Draft)
Day 3, 30 September
Technical Visit: Discover Alpine Hydropower
Join us on Day 3 for an exclusive, guided tour of a local high-head hydroelectric power station.
Two guided tour options are planned due to restrictions on the number of people who can be accommodated on site.
Pre-registration is required.
