Robin Rittiner

Robin Rittiner is a mechanical engineer and research assistant at the Hydro Alps Lab. After training as a polymechanic, he obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Systems, specialising in mechanical engineering, and is currently pursuing a Master of Science in Engineering in Mechanical Engineering. At the Hydro Alps Lab, he contributes to applied research projects in collaboration with stakeholders in the hydroelectric sector. His work focuses on the experimental study of cavitation, the fatigue of pipelines subjected to high-frequency water hammer (the WISE project), and CFD simulation of internal flows. His Master’s thesis aims to develop an innovative, non-intrusive acoustic method for detecting the presence of sediment in a pipeline, combining on-site measurements at the power station with the design of a dedicated test bench. Robin Rittiner was subsequently recruited by Hydro Exploitation as a project engineer.
